I’ve been passionately working with fabric for close to 20 years. Prior to this I dabbled with art, including water colour, acrylic, oil painting, portrait sketching and a whole host of crafts including pottery, embroidery, paper making and calligraphy. These days I’m well and truly hooked on fabric and only ever pick up a paint brush if it’s to change or embellish a piece of fabric.
I teach regular weekly classes and conduct workshops in the Sydney area and will happily travel to country areas and interstate to conduct workshops.
Many of my quilts have been published as projects in "Down Under Quilts" magazine and photos of my quilts pop up in various magazines. Check out my gallery for photos of some of these quilts.
I'd describe my work as contemporary, though I enjoy traditional quilt making as well. Many of my quilts are a little 3 dimensional and I love raw edge appliqué. I am fascinated with Fibonacci number sequencing as a design aid and use it to some extent in all of my designs. I piece and quilt both by machine and by hand and if I’m in traditional mode and making a large quilt, I always opt for quilt as you go. I hope you enjoy my photo gallery, it’s updated quite frequently to reflect some of my more recent work.
