Meditation Services
These services provide an opportunity for members to practise together methods of concentration and meditation as taught in the Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons.

Sunday

The meditation is preceded by group practice of the Energization Exercises at 8am. There are periods of chanting at 9am and 10am for those who miss the 8am start but would still like to join the meditation group – please join the group as quietly as possible and only at these times.

Friday:

Energization Exercises are held at 6pm, with chanting periods at 7, 8 and 9pm. For security reasons the street door cannot be left open after 6pm, so if you intend to arrive after 6pm regularly, please organise access beforehand. Please note that Friday night services are not held if a retreat is scheduled that weekend. The Friday night meditation is not held on Good Friday. If a commemoration service falls on a Friday, the chapel will remain open for meditation until 10pm.

Readings Service
As well as spreading the technique of Kriya Yoga, Paramahansa Yogananda's mission included pointing out the fundamental unity between Christ's teachings in the Bible and the Yoga teachings of Bhagavan Krishna in the Bhagavad-Gita. Passages from Yogananda's scripture interpretations and his other writings are included in the Readings Service. The readings, together with chanting and meditation, make up a balanced service that meets the needs of both long-time SRF members and those who are new to this spiritual path. This service is well suited to the general public. Subjects of weekly services.

Inspirational Service
This service is primarily a devotional service. It consists of readings selected from the writings of Paramahansa Yogananda or from other SRF publications, plus periods of meditation and chanting.

Prayer Service
Devotees participating in the Prayer Service assist the Prayer Council at Self Realization Fellowship in its task of praying for world peace and for those in every nation who request physical, mental or spiritual healing. During this service devotees may also pray for their loved ones, as well as for Divine aid in overcoming their personal difficulties. The service concludes with the healing technique, as taught by Paramahansa Yogananda.

You are welcome to submit prayer requests for those who would like healing prayers.
The Worldwide Prayer Circle is dedicated to the upliftment of humanity through prayer. A booklet is available at Sydney Centre.

"No effort is complete without prayer — without definite recognition that the best human endeavor is of no effect if it has not God’s blessing behind it."   Mahatma Gandhi

Commemoration Services
Special Commemoration Services are held to honour the Gurus of Self-Realization Fellowship. All are welcome who are well enough acquainted with SRF teachings to appreciate the significance of the Guru-disciple relationship and to participate in the ceremony with sincerity and reverence. Those who attend these services should bring a flower as a symbol of devotion and a monetary offering as a symbol of loyalty to the SRF path.

"As a rope formed of many fibres is stronger than one single strand, so members of a group by uniting their efforts, strengthen their meditations."   Paramahansa Yogananda.
